Frequently Asked Questions

Fit and Scope

Which kinds of businesses is Nexilon best suited for?

You’ve built a practice that runs on professional standards, not shortcuts. Your clients trust you with their health, their legal situation, their finances. Your digital presence should reflect that same standard — and right now, for most practices in Aargau, Basel, and Solothurn, it doesn’t. Nexilon works with regulated practices and firms: physiotherapists, doctors, lawyers, fiduciaries, and advisers with 1–20 staff who want more of the right clients in their region — and want their online presence to hold up to the scrutiny of a professional body. We’re not the right fit if you need a national brand campaign or mass-market advertising. But if the problem is that your practice is harder to find online than it deserves to be, that’s exactly our territory.

Yes — and this isn’t a marketing claim you should take at face value. Ask us one specific question before you decide: “What are the revDSG obligations that apply to my contact form?” We’ll give you a specific answer. Most agencies can’t. We’ve built compliance checklists for six regulated professions in Switzerland because the rules that apply to a physiotherapy appointment form are different from the ones that apply to a law firm’s client intake page — and getting them wrong exposes you to fines of up to CHF 250,000 per wilful violation.

Start with the Digitaler Praxis-Check. Here’s the honest reason: we’ve seen practices spend CHF 3,000–5,000 on a new website that didn’t fix the actual problem — which turned out to be an incomplete Google Business Profile and zero review management. The Praxis-Check takes 5–7 working days, costs CHF 390, and delivers a written PDF that ranks your current digital situation against similar practices in your region and tells you which gap costs you the most patients right now. No upsell pressure at the end. Just a clear diagnosis.

One service only is fine. We deliberately built it this way. Swiss professionals don’t need to buy a bundle to get started — and we don’t benefit from locking you into something you don’t need. You can start with the Praxis-Check, add the GBP setup, and stop there if that’s what makes sense. If a combination adds clear value later, we’ll say so in writing with the reasoning — and you decide.

Our primary focus is German-speaking Switzerland — Aargau, Zürich, Basel, Bern, Solothurn. That’s where our local knowledge, our Hochdeutsch content, and our understanding of regional search behaviour actually matter. For an international firm targeting Swiss clients specifically, we can help — but only if Swiss DSG compliance and Swiss local search are central to the brief. If they’re not, you need a different partner.

Outcomes and Process

What business results should I realistically expect?

Let’s be specific, because vague promises are what most agencies offer. A Praxis-Check gives you a prioritised action list within 7 days. Local SEO improvements start showing in Google Maps rankings within 4–12 weeks depending on current competition. A website redesign on Swiss-hosted infrastructure with proper structured data takes 2–4 weeks to build and typically starts generating measurable enquiry increases within 6–8 weeks of launch. We’ve seen a physiotherapy practice in the Frick area move from position 14 to position 3 in Google Maps within 8 weeks after a GBP optimisation and review campaign. That’s a specific result from a specific place — not a benchmark promise, but a realistic illustration of what focused work produces.

We answer that question in the Praxis-Check — that’s one of the core outputs. But here’s a shortcut: if your practice has no professional website, or if the current one runs on Wix or Squarespace (which means patient data may be stored on US servers in potential violation of revDSG Art.16), a new website on Swiss-hosted infrastructure is probably the right first investment. If you have a working site but weak local search presence and no review management, ongoing digital care is more cost-effective than a rebuild. We’ll tell you which one honestly — and if neither applies, we’ll say that too.

Concrete timelines: Praxis-Check delivered in 5–7 working days. A practice website (5–10 pages, Swiss-hosted, sector-compliant) takes 2–4 weeks from signed brief to live. A micro site for a specific campaign or new location takes 5–10 days. A DSG-Prüfung is delivered within 5 working days. We give you the timeline in writing before we start — and we don’t adjust it without telling you why and getting your agreement.

Four steps, nothing hidden. First, a free 30-minute call to understand your practice, your patients, and your current digital situation. Second, a written proposal with scope, deliverables, timeline, and price — nothing starts until you’ve confirmed this in writing. Third, we build, review together, revise, and launch. Fourth, we stay available for 30 days post-launch for adjustments at no extra charge. The key difference from most agencies: you see every major decision before it’s implemented. No surprises at invoice time.

Less than you’d expect. For a Praxis-Check: your website URL and access to your Google Business Profile — that’s usually the whole list. For a website project: your logo, a one-paragraph description of your practice and ideal patient, and your professional registration details for the Impressum. You don’t need a polished brief or prepared content. The first call is where we build the brief together. Swiss practice owners are busy — we designed the onboarding process around that reality.

Trust, Compliance, and Technical Risk

Do you build websites that comply with Swiss DSG and EU GDPR requirements?

Every website we build ships with Swiss DSG-compliant cookie management, a Datenschutzerklärung that matches your actual data flows, and hosting on Swiss infrastructure (Cyon or equivalent) so that patient and client data stays within Swiss jurisdiction from day one. This isn’t a checkbox — for a physiotherapy or medical practice, it’s a professional obligation. The revDSG has been in force since 1 September 2023. The EDÖB has specifically tightened oversight of patient data since 2025. Your website either meets the standard or it creates exposure. Ours meet it.

This is actually the primary reason some practices choose us over a generalist agency. A dentist’s website cannot make the same patient claims that a consumer goods company can. A lawyer’s site carries data handling obligations under BGFA that a retail website doesn’t have. A physiotherapy practice must manage patient reviews within Physioswiss guidelines — actively soliciting reviews the wrong way violates FMH StaO Art.20. We know these rules before we write your first page. We apply them as a default, not an add-on.

All websites we build are hosted in Switzerland by default. That means your patient contact forms, appointment requests, and client communications never leave Swiss legal jurisdiction. For a medical or legal practice, this isn’t a preference — it’s what the revDSG requires when handling sensitive personal data. The alternative — Wix, Squarespace, Jimdo — stores your data on servers in the US or Germany. That creates an Art.16 cross-border transfer obligation that most practices using those platforms have never addressed. We include a “Gehostet in der Schweiz” badge on every site we deliver because your patients notice trust signals, even when they can’t name them.

Yes, on all three — and we can be specific about what that means. Every site we build targets a load time under 2 seconds on mobile (the Swiss average for competitor practice sites is 3.8 seconds — slower sites lose patients before they read a word). We implement Core Web Vitals optimisation, proper title tags and meta descriptions, structured data markup (Schema.org/MedicalBusiness, LocalBusiness), and Swiss-specific hreflang configuration for bilingual sites. Your site ranks from day one — not after a separate “SEO phase” we charge for later.

You own everything. The domain stays registered to you. WordPress access, Cyon hosting credentials, and Google Business Profile ownership all transfer to you on launch day. We document this handover in writing. There’s no technical or contractual dependency that keeps you tied to Nexilon. We want you to stay because the work is good — not because leaving would be painful. That’s a principle, not a policy.

Visibility and AI-Era Relevance

How do you improve visibility on Google Maps, local search, and AI-generated answers?

Three measurable layers. First: Google Business Profile — most practices we audit in Aargau and Basel have missing service descriptions, zero posts in the past 6 months, and unanswered reviews. Fixing this alone moves rankings. Second: on-page local SEO — location-specific content, structured data, NAP consistency across directories. Third: GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) — structured Q&A content and Schema markup that allows ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews to cite your practice when someone asks “best physiotherapist near Brugg.” Google AI Overviews went live in Switzerland in March 2025. 13% of Swiss consumers now start SME searches in AI tools. That number will not go down.

We improve existing ones regularly — and we say so clearly when a partial fix is more cost-effective than a rebuild. The Praxis-Check will tell you which applies to your site. If your current platform is Wix or Squarespace and you’re handling patient data, a rebuild is necessary for compliance reasons — not a commercial recommendation, a legal one. If your site runs on a Swiss-hosted WordPress install and the core structure is sound, we often achieve better results with targeted improvements than with a full rebuild. We’ll give you that assessment in writing.

With proper technical architecture — not machine translation and a language switcher. Each language version gets its own URL structure, correctly configured hreflang tags for Swiss search engines, and content that was written or reviewed by a native speaker. We currently cover German (Swiss High German standard — no ß, Swiss vocabulary conventions), English, and French. Arabic is available for practices serving those patient communities, particularly in Basel and Zürich. Every language version is tested against the same conversion and compliance standards as the primary version.

Yes — through our Ongoing Digital Care retainer. What that covers in practice: monthly WordPress and plugin security updates, Google Business Profile management (posts, review responses, Q&A maintenance), basic social media scheduling, and a short monthly report showing what was done and what’s planned. Billing is monthly, no minimum contract beyond the first three months. If the work isn’t producing visible results, you should cancel — and we’ve made it easy to do so. That’s the accountability structure we prefer.

Here’s what it looks like on a normal Tuesday. A patient leaves a Google review at 7:30am. Review Guard detects it, drafts a compliant reply in your practice’s tone, and you approve or send it in under a minute — instead of leaving it unanswered for three weeks. A new enquiry comes in via WhatsApp at 8:15pm when you’re with your last patient. Auto-Reply sends a professional holding response immediately. Your Social Micro Trigger posts a seasonal health tip to Instagram and Facebook without you logging in. By Thursday your FAQ Analyzer flags that five patients this week asked the same question about insurance reimbursement — and prepares a draft answer for your website. That’s not automation for its own sake. It’s six hours a week returned to clinical work.
